My Story

I love food, always have, always will. As a child I had the good fortune of spending a few years living with my grandparents in Tennessee. My grandfather was a professional baker, and an exceptional home cook. From him I learned the importance of fresh, local ingredients, and that adding bacon to anything will make it taste better. As a teenager living with my brother and single father, we enjoyed inventive family meals and the importance of sitting down and sharing meal time together at the end of a busy day. As an adult, I discovered a love for science, and the how and why behind what we choose to eat, to feed our families and communities, and to minimize the effects we leave behind on our environments.

I am a registered dietitian, nutritionist, bringing a balanced approach to nutrition education and mealtime.
